PADI Dive Against Debris


Welcome to Diving Against Debris!

We at Diver Dan’s look forward to helping you get trained and certified as the PADI Dive Against Debris Diver. Make a difference on every dive by activating your inner citizen scientist. During the Dive Against Debris® Diver Specialty course, you’ll learn how ocean plastic and trash cleanups not only keep your local dive sites healthier, but also how to contribute to a global database that documents our planet’s marine debris problem. Under the guidance of your instructor, you’ll participate in a Dive Against Debris survey and turn your passion for the underwater world into real action.


In order to take this Specialty, you must first already be a PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent), you must be 10 years old, and must have experience and be current in cold water.

Training Fees

The total training fees for classes $135.00. The fees are broken down as follows:

$25.00 Registration Fee
$110.00 Instructor / Certification Fee

Online Registration for Dive Against Debris Diver

You can also register online by paying the $25.00 registration fee. Your instructor will collect the remaining Instructor fee in person.

Cancellation Policy

No store fees will be refunded once class has begun. Classes are transferable for up to one year from original start date. Boat fees can be fully refunded with more than 7 days notice. If cancelation is between 3-7 days we will issue a rain check for a future boat dive. if less than 72 hours notice, no refund or rain check will be issued.

Class Schedule

The Dive Against Debris Specialty is a one-weekend class consisting of one classroom session (Saturday), and one ocean session (Sunday).

What You Will Need To Buy

You will be required to have all your own basic equipment for SCUBA diving. This includes a Mask, Snorkel, Fins, Boots, Gloves, Logbook, Slate and a pencil.

What You May Rent

You may rent the rest of your SCUBA at Diver Dan’s. This includes your Wetsuit, Hood, Regulator (with Dive Computer, Compass & Whistle), Weight Belt, Buoyancy Control Device (BCD), and Tanks.

Medical Concerns or Questions?

If you are currently under the care of a medical doctor or have a pre-existing medical condition that requires permission from a physician, you will need to have a signed medical release form from your doctor before you can participate in any in-water activities.

Diver Dan’s puts safety first.  If any customer, while enrolled in a class of Diver Dan’s , is observed to be under the influence of alcohol,  marijuana, or drugs; he or she will be asked to leave the class immediately.  The customer will forfeit all fees paid.  There will be no refunds.
