The Caribbean coast of the Yucatan Peninsula Is covered in dense jungle, yet there are no lakes or rivers in the area. The water runs underground, hydrating the forest, then flowing out to sea through mangroves and ocean outlets. During this diving adventure, you will visit various parts of this delicate ecosystem, seeing firsthand the journey the water has followed for thousands of years.

Cenotes

Cenotes are natural sinkholes that form windows into the huge underground water reserves of the area. Divers will view stunning light effects, delicate cave decorations, mangrove caverns, and marine fossils during four days of diverse cavern diving! We’ll be staying in condos overlooking Puerto Aventuras, and traveling to a variety of different caverns up and down the Riviera Maya.

Xcalak

Xcalak is a remote marine park at the southernmost point of Mexico’s Caribbean. Due to its location, few divers visit Xcalak, and it is unusual to see other groups in the water. For two days, divers venture through extensive coral canyons and swim-‐throughs, and have the opportunity to dive with schools of massive tarpon.
