Why take the PADI
Digital Underwater
Photography class?
The PADI
Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty course can help you learn how to take your fist underwater photographs or fine tune your existing skills to produce photographs that will stun your friends.What do I need to start?
You will need to have obtained a PADI Open Water Diver
or Junior
Open Water
Diver
certification or a qualifying certification from another
organization and be at least 10 years old to enroll in the
PADI
Digital Underwater
Photographer
course.
Two training
options
The PADI
Digital
Underwater
Photographer
course has
two training
level
options.
-
Option
1:
Classroom
and Pool
training
only.
This
option
is great
for
divers
and
snorkelers
who
desire a
minimal
time
commitment
(only
two
evenings)
and/or
are
traveling
to a
tropical
destination.
-
Option2:
Classroom,
Pool and
Ocean
Training.
This
option
gives
you
additional
training
with two
actual
ocean
dives.
This
additional
training
with
your
Instructor
at the
ocean
will
maximize
your new
abilities
as a
Digital
Underwater
Photographer!
This
option
results
in a
PADI
Digital
Underwater
Photographer
Specialty
Certification.

What is the class schedule?
The
Digital Underwater
Photographer course is a one week class
consisting of one class session, one pool session and
two ocean
dives
done in one
day.
What will I be doing?
You'll learn the basics of
digital
underwater
photography
such as
composition and camera handling, with special emphasis on practical techniques.
You'll learn
digital underwater photography dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and potential problems.
You'll also learn how to care for and maintain your camera equipment.

What will I need to buy?
You will need to purchase the following items if needed:

Slate

Signaling device (whistle)

(purchased
or
rented)
Before your ocean dives, you will need your own personal snorkeling gear which
includes a mask, snorkel, fins, boots, gloves.
You will also need to have a PADI dive table or wheel and a timing device or
dive computer and a log book.

What can I rent?
You may rent the rest of your SCUBA diving equipment if
needed. This includes your wetsuit, hood, regulator with compass, weight belt,
buoyancy control device (BCD) and tanks.What
about the
Instructor?
All of the
scheduled
classes will be taught by
Mike Davis, PADI Instructor
and Manager
of
Diver Dan's.
Mike has over
eight years
of experience in Underwater Photography
and
Videography and with his enthusiasm he brings to
us his experience in all types of camera systems, from simple
mechanical
housings to
complex
electronic digital systems! This is the

Area. This allows us to offer class schedules that are sure to meet your
